Engineers Without Borders UK brings people, ideas and engineering together to deliver solutions to the world’s most pressing problems. Our vision is a world where everyone has access to the engineering they need for a life free from poverty. Where engineering is for everyone, everywhere. We work with our members, partner organisations and the education sector to enable people to use their technical skills to aid human development. We believe that together we can create a new generation of globally responsible engineers.
Our learning programmes influence education at all levels. We deliver interactive workshops for school children, enable universities to include relevant and current development challenges in undergraduate teaching, and provide educational courses to inform practising engineers about the global dimension of the engineering profession.
We strengthen the capacity of partner organisations working on community driven initiatives around the world by recruiting skilled volunteers for international placements that help to alleviate poverty. We enable our members to provide relevant support for international projects that align with our aims and vision.
Arup are one of Engineers Without Borders UK's key, long term, strategic partners engaging at all levels from Trustee to placement volunteer. We enjoy broad support from Arup employees and want to continue working together.
