On 26 November, 16 energetic Arupians from various groups participated in the annual Inner Challenge event organised by our long-term partner Breakthrough.
Inner Challenge is one of Breakthrough’s major events and its aim is to help reveal the potential of youngsters while raising funds for its charity works. The ‘challenge’ involves a fund raising hike of 10 to 15 hours covering 30km from Ma On Shan to Sai Kung. Crossing hilly terrain, stream trekking and rope climbing up slippery slopes, the adventurous trek went from day to night, challenging both our physical ability, mental strength and perseverance to achieve goals.
Despite the adverse weather during the event our three teams completed the challenge successfully. All of this would not have been possible without the supporting teams who brought in hot food, necessary supplies and encouragement for all the challengers. Inner Challenge 2016 provided a great chance for the teams to experience team bonding to overcome the challenging mission.
Arup has been supporting this event for 20 years and was invited by the organiser to receive a gift presentation during the opening ceremony to record this magnificent achievement.
