On Saturday Feb 21, a team of Arupians braved the heat and headed up to Yea for our first Habitat for Humanity build day of 2015.
It was great to see the progress on site, with two more houses really taking shape and almost fully clad. We split into small groups and worked on various tasks including digging holes, installing deck support posts, installing external cladding, painting fascia boards and installing eaves supports.
Highlights of the day included Jenny using the post hole auger, Sandy and Natasha outsmarting us all by choosing the only indoor job (out of the sun), Frank going for a swim in the Yea town fountain, and ice-creams for all to rescue us from the 35 degree heat.
Special thanks to John King, Sandy King, Jenny Li, John Legge-Wilkinson, Malcolm Barr, Natasha Randall, Gus Randall, Phil Alexander-Pye, Frank Gargano and Maxine Duffield for their enthusiasm and hard work.
