Arup people, on the 7th of February 2014 from offices in Hong Kong, Manila and Tokyo held their annual Wear Red Day to help RedR raise funds for their humanitarian volunteers across the world.
The office in Hong Kong organized the day with volunteers cooking and serving all the staff that was dressed up in red, with delicious baked food and treats. They raised a total of HK$ 6920 (£) to support RedR.
Similarly, the staff at the Tokyo office had a wonderful fundraising party with a short film about RedR and the amazing work it does. The office raised a total of JPY 39,150 (£) for RedR.
And in Philipines, Manila office, rules for the day were set for collecting donations from late-comers, non-red wearing employees, coffee/tea drinkers and smokers. They also had indoor parlour games with each department having to pay joining donation fees and losers having to pay a losers fee. It was a fun-filled fund raiser collecting a total of HK$ 1,979.76 (£) for the RedR.
RedR is an international NGO whose mission is to “rebuild lives in times of disaster by training, supporting and providing aid workers the relief programmes across the world”. Although was an acronym of Register of Engineers for Disaster Relief, it no longer uses that anymore.
